Koplin Del Rio is a Seattle art gallery that features contemporary paintings, drawings, and sculptures of established, internationally known, as well as, emerging American artists. We created a catalogue for their current exhibition titled Drawing the Ghost. Drawing the Ghost presents nearly 50 works from 18 artists employing varying modes of drawing to explore ideas of Race, Class, Gender, Futurism, Celestial phenomena, History and other concepts. This is Robert Pruitt’s first curated exhibition with the Koplin Del Rio. Says the artist, “This exhibition merges with my own art practice through the selection of artists who work with the human figure as a foundation.
Our approach to the design for Drawing the Ghost exhibition catalogue for Koplin Del Rio was to allow the many artists’ works to fully shine. We created a grid system for each spread that allowed for dynamic layouts regardless of how many artworks were being exhibited by the artist.

Inspired by the words used to describe how one should feel at the Drawing the Ghost exhibition, we introduced some decorative typographical elements to further the idea behind the show.
